TOXIC BODY REPORT MUST NOT BE IGNORED - BAKER

4.30.23pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 25th Nov 2003

A WWF report, released today, has found highly toxic man-made chemicals in every person tested in a UK wide blood survey, including the banned chemical DDT.

Commenting on the report, ContamiNATION, Norman Baker MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, said:

"WWF have done the British public a great service in highlighting the hidden dangers of these chemicals, most of which are found in the home.

"The Government cannot ignore this shocking report.

"The short-term dangers of certain individual chemicals are well publicised. But, as a society, we are simply not doing enough to consider the impact of chemical cocktails, or of the long-term effects of chemicals on the body."
