Simon Hughes to address Green Liberal Democrats Conference on 6 March6.20.39pm UTC (GMT +0000) Sun 22nd Feb 2004
The Green Liberal Democrats are holding a conference on 6 March 2004, entitled "It's the Quality of Life (Stupid!): wellbeing, sustainable economics and politics as if people mattered" at the University of London Union. They have called his conference to discuss and develop ideas on wellbeing and sustainability with specific regard to the Party's manifesto for the General Election. The day is intended to be a mix of speeches and general discussion with breakout sessions planned for brainstorming and developing specific ideas. The conclusions of the conference will be submitted to the Party's Federal Policy Committee and the wider party for consideration. It is being supported by supported by the Liberal Democrat Youth and Students, Women Liberal Democrats, Liberal Democrat Peace & Security Group, Liberal Democrat European Group, the LGA Liberal Democrat Group, and the Centre for Reform. As well as Simon Hughes, other speakers will include Nic Marks from the New Economics Foundation, and journalist and novelist Antonia Swinson whose latest book Root of All Evil? has been recently published.
