MPs slam government for its damaging aviation policy - Thurso5.01.10pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 15th Mar 2004
A report into aviation by the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee, released today, has slammed the Government for its environmentally damaging aviation policy. Commenting, John Thurso MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary, said: "This report has to be a wake up call to the Government. There is precious little here from which they can take comfort. "If Ministers have any pretensions to tackling the environmental crisis recently highlighted by their chief scientific officer, Sir David King, then they need to take action now."
