Biomass report could have gone further - Baker12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 25th Oct 2005
Commenting on the publication of the Biomass Taskforce's Report, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Norman Baker MP said: "Although the taskforce's targets for heat and transport renewables are welcome they could have gone further. "A new renewable heat obligation to compliment the existing renewable electricity obligation is required, as is a co-ordinated approach to biomass policy across Government, with DEFRA given sole responsibility for promoting biomass. "If the Government is serious about tackling climate change and about helping rural communities they should embrace the development of biomass fuels and vital targets."
